Cofounder and CEO Taofiq Huq was recently invited to attend Fish-X, a workshop hosted by the Fisheries Research and Development Corporation (FRDC) and X-Lab. This two day workshop covered the basics of the design thinking and lean startup methodologies, and allowed participants to ideate and develop solutions to problems facing the fishing industry today.

Through the course of this workshop, we spoke with several members of the fish industry, as well as members of the FRDC. We have found a strong fit between Spiral Blue capabilities and market need for better water quality monitoring. This is expected to have applications for aquaculture, agriculture, and environmental monitoring.

We look forward to working further with the FRDC and X-Lab in developing the ideas discussed at Fish-X into products and services that will help grow the Australian fish industry.
